Sako ("we", "us", or "our") built the Sako app as a freemium application on iOS and Android. This Service is provided by Sako and is intended for use as is.

Information You Provide

The app uses your location to surface healthy meal options at nearby restaurants. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or other direct personal identifiers.

To improve the Service, usage information may be sent to our analytics partners in an aggregate or pseudonymous form (for example, "how many users viewed a particular restaurant" or "which meal tags are most popular"). This data is used for analytics and feature improvement without directly identifying you.

Location Data

Sako uses your device's location to show nearby restaurants and healthy meal options. Your precise location is accessed only while you are actively using the App and is not stored on our servers. If you tap a link to a third-party service (such as Maps or a delivery platform), your device shares your location directly with that provider.

Third-Party Services and SDKs

To operate the Service, analyse usage, and manage subscriptions, the App integrates trusted third-party SDKs. These partners may collect anonymous or pseudonymous device and usage data, such as:

• App usage events and feature interactions
• Subscription and purchase status
• Error reports and performance data

RevenueCat

Expo (React Native)

Apple Services (iOS)

On iOS, Apple may collect device and purchase data in accordance with Apple's own privacy policies when you interact with the App Store or in-app purchases.

These third parties are contractually prohibited from selling your personal data and may use the information only to provide their services to us.

No Medical Advice

Sako provides meal suggestions and estimated nutritional information for general informational purposes only. It is not a medical or dietary service. Always consult a qualified professional for health or nutrition decisions, especially if you have allergies or medical conditions.

Restaurant & Menu Information

Menu and nutritional data displayed in the App is sourced from third-party providers and may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date. We are not responsible for inaccuracies in menu data or for decisions made based on that information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with third-party service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the App. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is anonymised or deleted. Location data is not stored beyond your active session. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Security

We use commercially acceptable measures to protect data processed by the Service. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
